Common sense is genius dressed in its working clothes.

Standing up for common sense

We believe that everyone deserves auto insurance at a fair rate that is based primarily on their driving record. We strive to not only fulfill this mission, but also to educate the public in the process.

Our not-for-profit model allows CURE to continually offer affordable auto insurance to responsible drivers.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

—Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Voice of Reason

CURE is the voice for responsible drivers who have been discriminated against by other auto insurers based on factors that shouldn't impact auto insurance rates, such as education, occupation, and home ownership.

CURE leads the way as the solution for transforming the auto industry and removing income discriminating practices.

Change happens by listening and then starting a dialogue with the people who are doing something you don't believe is right.

—Jane Goodall
How CURE Came to Be

During the 1980s, auto insurers were reluctant to write auto insurance due to low profitability and massive legislative constraints.

In response to this crisis, Citizens United Reciprocal Exchange (CURE) was founded as a solution to the ailing auto insurance industry.

We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.

—Bertha Calloway
We Don't Discriminate

CURE cares mostly about how well you drive, so we refuse to adopt discriminatory income rating factors, like education, home ownership, and occupation, that most other insurers use.

Your auto insurance rate should be based on how well you drive. Drive well!
